- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup powdered sugar, sifted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
- Optional: Sprinkles, chopped nuts, or a dusting of extra powdered sugar for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease your baking sheets or line them with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, blend the softened butter and sifted powdered sugar together until light and creamy.
- Stir in the vanilla extract until fully mixed.
- Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing at low speed until just combined.
- Scoop out tablespoon-sized portions and roll into balls. Place them on prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each.
- Optionally, press sprinkles or chopped nuts on top of each cookie.
- Bake for about 12-15 minutes, or until lightly golden on the edges.
- Let cool for a few minutes on the sheet, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Dough can be made ahead and refrigerated for up to 3 days or frozen for up to a month.
