Description

Irresistible Individual Apple Hand Pies filled with tender spiced apples and covered with a sweet glaze.


Ingredients

  • 4 Apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp Nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 1 Egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar (for glaze)
  • 1-2 tbsp Milk (for glaze)


Instructions

  1. Prepare the Apples: Peel and chop apples into small pieces; toss them with sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice in a bowl, and let sit.
  2. Make the Pie Crust: Roll out pie crust on a floured surface, making it thinner if store-bought.
  3. Fill the Pies: Cut dough into circles (about 4-5 inches across) and add a spoonful of the apple mixture to the center.
  4. Seal the Pies: Fold the crust over the filling, crimp the edges with a fork to seal.
  5. Prepare for Baking: Place hand pies on a parchment-lined baking sheet and brush tops with beaten egg.
  6. Bake: Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Make the Glaze: Mix powdered sugar with milk and vanilla for the glaze.
  8. Drizzle and Serve: Drizzle glaze on warm hand pies and enjoy!
