Description

A wholesome and indulgent breakfast option that combines warm baked apples with a crunchy oat and nut topping.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium-sized apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (or coconut sugar)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (or almonds)
  • 2 tablespoons butter (or coconut oil)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Peel, core, and slice the apples, then toss with cinnamon.
  2. In a bowl, combine oats, brown sugar, and chopped nuts. Add melted butter (or coconut oil) and mix until crumbly.
  3. Layer the chopped apples in a baking dish and spread the crumble topping evenly over them.
  4. Bake for 30-35 minutes until apples are bubbling and topping is golden.
  5. Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm with Greek yogurt or honey.

Notes

Try using a mix of different apple varieties for more flavor. Let the crumble sit before serving for easier portions.
