  • Food coloring (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt, then gradually mix this into the wet ingredients.
  5. Add food coloring if desired and mix until well blended.
  6. Scoop out tablespoon-sized portions of dough, roll into balls, and flatten slightly or use cookie cutters for fun shapes.
  7. Place cookies on prepared sheets, leaving space between them, and bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are slightly golden.
