Description

A comforting and flavorful twist on the classic Philly cheesesteak sandwich featuring savory ground beef, sautéed bell peppers, onions, and gooey cheese in a soft hoagie roll.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb lean Ground Beef
  • 1 Green Bell Pepper, sliced
  • 1 Red Bell Pepper, sliced
  • 1 Onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 4 slices Provolone or Mozzarella Cheese
  • 4 Hoagie Rolls
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil
  • Salt and Pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Toss in sliced bell peppers and onions. Cook until tender and lightly caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Push the veggies to one side of the skillet. Add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 7-10 minutes. Stir in minced garlic toward the end.
  3. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix the veggies with the beef and let them mingle for a minute or two.
  4. Lower the heat and place slices of cheese on top of the beef mixture. Cover the skillet with a lid to melt the cheese nicely.
  5. Scoop the cheesy beef and veggie mix into the hoagie rolls. Serve warm and gooey!

Notes

Choose lean ground beef to prevent a greasy filling. Toast the hoagie rolls for added crunch.
