Description

A rich and hearty beef stroganoff with tender beef and a creamy, savory sauce, perfect over noodles, rice, or potatoes.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb beef (sirloin or tenderloin), sliced into thin strips
  • 8 oz fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 large sweet onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish


Instructions

  1. Slice your beef into thin strips, about half an inch wide. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the onions, cooking until they turn soft.
  3. Add the mushrooms and garlic, stirring until they’re browned and fragrant.
  4. Push the veggies to the side and add the beef to the skillet. Cook for a few minutes until browned but still a bit pink in the middle.
  5. Sprinkle flour over the beef and veggies, stirring everything together. Gradually pour in the broth, stirring to avoid lumps. Let it simmer for a few minutes until it thickens slightly.
  6. Turn down the heat and mix in the sour cream. Let everything cook together for a couple more minutes until warmed through.
  7. Serve hot over your choice of noodles, rice, or potatoes. Garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

Use high-quality beef for richer flavor. Adjust the sauce thickness by adding more or less broth.
