Description
A rich and hearty beef stroganoff with tender beef and a creamy, savory sauce, perfect over noodles, rice, or potatoes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb beef (sirloin or tenderloin), sliced into thin strips
- 8 oz fresh mushrooms, sliced
- 1 large sweet onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 tbsp flour
- 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Slice your beef into thin strips, about half an inch wide. Season with salt and pepper.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the onions, cooking until they turn soft.
- Add the mushrooms and garlic, stirring until they’re browned and fragrant.
- Push the veggies to the side and add the beef to the skillet. Cook for a few minutes until browned but still a bit pink in the middle.
- Sprinkle flour over the beef and veggies, stirring everything together. Gradually pour in the broth, stirring to avoid lumps. Let it simmer for a few minutes until it thickens slightly.
- Turn down the heat and mix in the sour cream. Let everything cook together for a couple more minutes until warmed through.
- Serve hot over your choice of noodles, rice, or potatoes. Garnish with fresh parsley.
Notes
Use high-quality beef for richer flavor. Adjust the sauce thickness by adding more or less broth.
