Description

Giant chocolate chip cookies are oversized, soft, and chewy treats packed with gooey chocolate chips.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until thoroughly combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually incorporate this dry mix into the wet mix until just combined.
  5. Gently fold in the chocolate chips into the dough.
  6. Scoop portions of dough onto a lined baking sheet, leaving room for spreading.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes until the edges are golden and the center looks slightly underbaked.
  8. Let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For thicker cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking. Use room temperature butter for best results.
