Description

A delightful treat of sautéed apples that are tender and caramelized, perfect for a cozy dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium-sized apples (Granny Smith or Fuji)
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • A pinch of nutmeg (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Peel, core, and slice the apples into about 1/4 inch thick slices.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter until bubbly.
  3. Stir in the brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg, letting mixture bubble for about a minute.
  4. Toss in the sliced apples and lemon juice, stirring to coat. Cook for 5-7 minutes until apples are soft but still holding shape.
  5. Remove from heat and let cool slightly before serving, optional: top with vanilla ice cream.

Notes

Use a mix of tart and sweet apples for better flavor. Keep the heat controlled to avoid burning sugar.
