Description
A delightful treat of sautéed apples that are tender and caramelized, perfect for a cozy dessert.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 medium-sized apples (Granny Smith or Fuji)
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- A pinch of nutmeg (optional)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Peel, core, and slice the apples into about 1/4 inch thick slices.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter until bubbly.
- Stir in the brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg, letting mixture bubble for about a minute.
- Toss in the sliced apples and lemon juice, stirring to coat. Cook for 5-7 minutes until apples are soft but still holding shape.
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly before serving, optional: top with vanilla ice cream.
Notes
Use a mix of tart and sweet apples for better flavor. Keep the heat controlled to avoid burning sugar.
