- 1 cup long-grain rice
- 1 can French onion soup
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 cup Swiss or Gruyère cheese, shredded
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until no longer pink. Drain excess fat, then sauté chopped onions until softened.
- Stir in the long-grain rice and French onion soup, mixing well.
- Pour in the beef broth, add garlic powder and black pepper. Stir until combined and remove from heat.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish and spread evenly.
- Sprinkle the top with shredded cheese.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.
