Description

A cozy and beloved classic combining green beans with creamy mushroom sauce and a crunchy topping.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups green beans (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk (or a dairy-free alternative)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 cup French fried onions
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (optional, such as cheddar or mozzarella)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. If using fresh green beans, trim and cut them into bite-sized pieces. Drain frozen or canned beans.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, and half of the French fried onions. Stir until smooth.
  4. Add the green beans to the sauce mixture and stir to coat evenly.
  5. Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13 baking dish and spread evenly.
  6. Top with the remaining French fried onions and cheese if using.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25–30 minutes, until bubbling and golden.
  8. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Use fresh green beans for the best flavor and texture. Try different toppings for a twist.
