- 1 lb sirloin or flank steak
- 1/4 cup soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
- 2 tbsp honey (or maple syrup)
- 1-2 tsp red pepper flakes
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, grated (or ground ginger)
- 1 tbsp sesame oil (or canola oil)
- 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cut the steak into bite-sized pieces.
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce, honey, red pepper flakes, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil.
- Add the steak, cover, and marinate for at least 30 minutes, preferably a few hours.
- Heat a skillet or grill until hot.
- Remove steak from marinade (reserve marinade) and cook in hot skillet for 2-3 minutes per side until browned but still juicy.
- Pour reserved marinade into the skillet and let it bubble for another minute.
- Remove from heat, garnish with chopped green onions, and serve immediately.
Notes
Marinate longer for more flavor, adjust heat according to preference, and avoid overcooking for tender steak.
