Description

Luxurious and creamy Eggnog Mousse Cups embody the festive flavors of holiday eggnog in a delightful dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup eggnog
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup sugar (or powdered sugar)
  • 1 tablespoon gelatin (or agar-agar for a vegetarian option)
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Cold water (for gelatin)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin over cold water and let it sit until it blooms for about 5 minutes.
  2. Warm half of the eggnog in a saucepan until it’s just hot, then add the bloomed gelatin. Stir until dissolved.
  3. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream and sugar until soft peaks form.
  4. Slowly fold the warm eggnog mixture into the whipped cream until fully combined. Gently blend in the nutmeg and vanilla.
  5. Spoon the mousse into serving cups and chill in the fridge for at least two hours.
  6. Before serving, add a dollop of whipped cream on top and a light dusting of nutmeg.

Notes

Chill bowls and utensils beforehand for fluffier cream. Don’t overmix when combining the whipped cream and eggnog mixture. Can be made a day in advance.
