Description

A cozy holiday treat combining the rich flavors of eggnog with the comforting texture of bread pudding.


Ingredients

  • Day-old bread (challah or brioche)
  • 2 cups eggnog
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons butter (for greasing)
  • 1/2 cup raisins or pecans (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with butter.
  3. Tear the bread into bite-sized pieces.
  4. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggnog, eggs, sugar, and vanilla until well mixed.
  5. Add the bread pieces to the custard mixture and stir until coated.
  6. Stir in nutmeg, cinnamon, and optional raisins or pecans.
  7. Pour the mixture into the greased dish and spread it evenly.
  8. Bake for 40-50 minutes or until golden brown and set.
  9. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes
