- Day-old bread (challah or brioche)
- 2 cups eggnog
- 4 large eggs
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons butter (for greasing)
- 1/2 cup raisins or pecans (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with butter.
- Tear the bread into bite-sized pieces.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggnog, eggs, sugar, and vanilla until well mixed.
- Add the bread pieces to the custard mixture and stir until coated.
- Stir in nutmeg, cinnamon, and optional raisins or pecans.
- Pour the mixture into the greased dish and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 40-50 minutes or until golden brown and set.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
