Description

A simple yet delicious dessert that combines the rich flavor of pecan pie with the ease of a cake mix, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 package (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
  3. In a bowl, combine the yellow cake mix and brown sugar.
  4. Sprinkle the dry mix over the greased dish.
  5. Scatter the pecan halves on top of the cake mix.
  6. In another bowl, whisk together melted butter, eggs, corn syrup, and vanilla extract until blended.
  7. Pour the mixture over the cake mix and pecans.
  8. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
  9. Let it cool for a few minutes before cutting and serve warm, preferably with ice cream.

Notes

Mix in different nuts or chocolate chips for a twist. Store leftovers covered at room temperature for a few days, or refrigerate for longer freshness.
