- 1 cup pecan halves
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 package (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup corn syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
- In a bowl, combine the yellow cake mix and brown sugar.
- Sprinkle the dry mix over the greased dish.
- Scatter the pecan halves on top of the cake mix.
- In another bowl, whisk together melted butter, eggs, corn syrup, and vanilla extract until blended.
- Pour the mixture over the cake mix and pecans.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before cutting and serve warm, preferably with ice cream.
Notes
Mix in different nuts or chocolate chips for a twist. Store leftovers covered at room temperature for a few days, or refrigerate for longer freshness.
