Description

Indulge in the tropical flavors of Dubai with these delightful chocolate balls filled with creamy kunefe and crunchy pistachios.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups dark chocolate chips (or milk chocolate)
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup crushed graham crackers (or almond flour for gluten-free)
  • 1 cup shredded kunefe dough
  • ½ cup ricotta cheese (or mascarpone)
  • ½ cup finely chopped pistachios
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon cardamom (optional)


Instructions

  1. Start by melting the dark chocolate chips using a microwave or double boiler until smooth.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract, and crushed graham crackers, and stir until dough-like.
  3. Scoop about a tablespoon of the chocolate mixture and form a flat circle.
  4. Add a teaspoon of the kunefe filling in the center of the circle.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C) and whisk kunefe dough, ricotta, pistachios, sugar, and cardamom together.
  6. Spread the filling on a baking tray and bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown, then cool.
  7. Wrap chocolate mixture around the filling and form balls.
  8. Optional: Roll in crushed pistachios or chocolate sprinkles.
  9. Refrigerate for at least an hour to set.

Notes

Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week or frozen for three months. Feel free to experiment with fillings and toppings.
