Description

A comforting and customizable homemade pizza recipe that brings everyone together in the kitchen.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 ½ cups warm water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 2 cups cheese (Mozzarella or your choice)
  • Toppings of your choice (pepperoni, veggies, herbs, pineapple)


Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix warm water and active dry yeast. Allow it to sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Stir in olive oil and salt until well blended.
  3. Gradually add all-purpose flour, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and stretchy.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover with a kitchen towel. Let it rise in a warm spot for about an hour, or until doubled in size.
  6. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
  7. Punch down the dough and roll it out into your desired shape on a floured surface.
  8. Spread pizza sauce evenly over the base, sprinkle cheese on top, and add your favorite toppings.
  9. Transfer to a baking sheet or pizza stone and bake for about 12-15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and crust is golden brown.
  10. Cool for a couple of minutes, slice, and serve.

Notes

Knead well for a perfect texture, don’t skip the rising, and experiment with different toppings for variety.
