Description

A moist and delightful cake celebrating the wonderful flavors of fresh apples, topped with rich cream cheese frosting.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 1/2 cups Granulated Sugar
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp Nutmeg (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 3 large Eggs
  • 1/2 cup Vegetable Oil
  • 2 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 2 cups Fresh Apples (grated or chopped)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the sugar, eggs, oil, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring just until combined.
  5. Fold in the grated or chopped apples.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Allow the cake to cool completely before frosting.

Notes

Use freshly grated apples for the best flavor. Don’t skip the cooling time before frosting.
