Description

A comforting and nostalgic dessert made with bread, condensed milk, and warm spices.


Ingredients

  • Day-old bread (brioche or challah)
  • 1 can condensed milk
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cut the bread into cubes and place them in a greased baking dish.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the condensed milk, milk, eggs, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
  4. Pour the custard mixture over the bread cubes, ensuring they are evenly soaked.
  5. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes.
  6. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with powdered sugar, chocolate or caramel sauce, and a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
