Description

A comforting classic apple crumble with tender spiced apples and a crunchy, buttery topping.


Ingredients

  • 4-6 medium-sized apples (Granny Smith recommended)
  • 1 cup sugar (brown sugar optional)
  • 1-2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 cup flour (or almond flour for gluten-free)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Peel, core, and slice apples. Toss with sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice; let sit for 10 minutes.
  3. In another bowl, combine flour, oats, brown sugar, and salt. Cut in cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Spread spiced apple mixture evenly in a greased baking dish and sprinkle the crumble mixture on top.
  5. Bake for 30-40 minutes until topping is golden brown and apples are bubbling.
  6. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
