Description

This delightful cake combines all the flavors of classic Cinnabon cinnamon rolls into an easy-to-make dessert topped with a creamy glaze.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 splash of milk (for glaze)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Mix the dry ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. Create the wet mixture: In another bowl, beat the eggs, milk, and melted butter together.
  4. Combine wet and dry: Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  5. Prepare the cinnamon filling: In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar and cinnamon.
  6. Layer and swirl: Pour half of the batter into the baking dish. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon filling, then add the remaining batter and top with the rest of the filling. Use a knife to swirl everything together gently.
  7. Bake: Pop it in the oven and bake for about 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Make the glaze: While your cake is cooling, mix softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and a splash of milk until creamy.

Notes

Don’t overmix the batter for a fluffier cake. Cool slightly before glazing for easier drizzling.
