- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1 cup Nutella
- 1 large egg
Instructions
- Warm the milk slightly and mix in the sugar and yeast. Let it sit until frothy (5-10 minutes).
- In a bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and melted butter; mix until dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with cloth, and let it rise for 1-2 hours until doubled.
- Roll the dough into a ½ inch thick rectangle.
- Spread a generous layer of Nutella over the dough.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into 12 equal pieces.
- Place pieces in a greased baking dish and let them rise for 30-45 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Serve warm, optionally drizzle with melted chocolate or dust with powdered sugar. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
