- 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 10 Oreo cookies, crushed
- Whipped cream for topping
Instructions
- Melt semi-sweet chocolate in a heatproof bowl over a saucepan of simmering water until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat heavy cream and powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
- Gently fold the melted chocolate into the whipped cream, add vanilla extract, and mix until combined.
- Spoon the mousse into individual cups and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
- Crush Oreo cookies in a Ziploc bag until resembling dirt.
- Layer crushed Oreos on top of the chilled mousse, followed by a dollop of whipped cream. Optionally, sprinkle additional crushed cookies on top.
Notes
Opt for high-quality chocolate for the best flavor. You can make the mousse a day ahead and assemble it later.
