Description

Delightful soft, chewy chocolate squares that melt in your mouth, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 cup Butter, softened
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 cup Chocolate Chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease an 8-inch square baking dish and line with parchment paper.
  3. In a bowl, mix together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  4. In another bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add in the eggs, one at a time, and then the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, blending until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chips, if using.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared dish and spread it evenly.
  8. Bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Let the squares cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then lift out using the parchment paper and cool completely.
  10. Slice into squares and enjoy!

Notes

Don’t overbake; keep squares soft and fudgy. Chill before cutting for easier slicing.
