- 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
- 1 cup Granulated Sugar
- 1/2 cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- 1 tsp Baking Powder
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 1/2 cup Butter, softened
- 2 Eggs
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1/2 cup Chocolate Chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease an 8-inch square baking dish and line with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, mix together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add in the eggs, one at a time, and then the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, blending until just combined.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips, if using.
- Pour the batter into the prepared dish and spread it evenly.
- Bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Let the squares cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then lift out using the parchment paper and cool completely.
- Slice into squares and enjoy!
Notes
Don’t overbake; keep squares soft and fudgy. Chill before cutting for easier slicing.
