Description

Delicious bars combining rich chocolate and chewy coconut, perfect for a sweet treat.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups sweetened shredded coconut
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving some overhang.
  3. In a bowl, stir together graham cracker crumbs and melted butter until combined. Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of the baking dish.
  4. Sprinkle sweetened shredded coconut evenly over the crust.
  5. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate chips with sweetened condensed milk in short bursts, stirring until smooth.
  6. Pour and spread the melted chocolate over the coconut layer.
  7. Bake for about 25 minutes or until the chocolate is set and edges are lightly browned.
  8. Cool completely in the dish before lifting out the parchment paper and cutting into squares.

Notes

For a dairy-free option, use dairy-free chocolate chips and coconut milk instead of sweetened condensed milk. These bars can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week.
