- 1 can Chili Beans (kidney or black beans)
- 1 cup Chili Sauce
- 32 oz Tater Tots
- 2 cups Shredded Cheese (Cheddar and Monterey Jack)
- 1 Onion, chopped
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 Bell Pepper, diced
- Salt and Pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Brown the Meat: Cook the ground beef or turkey in a pan over medium heat until brown and crumbly. Drain excess fat.
- Sauté the Veggies: Add chopped onion and garlic to the meat and sauté until softened. Add diced bell peppers and cook for a couple more minutes.
- Mix in the Chili Ingredients: Stir in chili beans and chili sauce, season with salt and pepper, and let simmer for 5-10 minutes.
- Assemble the Casserole: In a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, spread the chili mixture on the bottom and sprinkle shredded cheese over the top.
- Add the Tater Tots: Arrange tater tots over the cheese layer, covering as much as possible.
- Bake: Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until tater tots are golden brown and cheese is bubbling.
- Cool & Serve: Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
