Description

A cozy, flavorful dish featuring juicy marinated chicken served with a creamy yogurt sauce, perfect for a family meal.


Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves fresh minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup diced cucumber
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Pita bread or cooked rice for serving


Instructions

  1. Combine olive oil, minced garlic, cumin, paprika, cinnamon, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Add chicken thighs and coat well. Marinate for at least 30 minutes (up to overnight).
  2. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Place marinated chicken on a baking sheet and bake for about 25 minutes. Broil for a couple of minutes for crispy edges.
  3. Mix yogurt, lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, and diced cucumber in a bowl. Adjust seasoning with more lemon juice if desired.
  4. Once chicken is done, let it rest, then slice thinly for serving in pita or over rice. Drizzle yogurt sauce over the chicken and add toppings like lettuce and tomato.

Notes

For more flavor, marinate the chicken overnight. Grilling is an option for added charred taste.
