A comforting and delicious fusion of creamy macaroni and cheese with seasoned hamburger meat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon paprika

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat with chopped onions and minced garlic until browned; drain excess fat.
  3. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat, whisk in flour to form a roux, slowly add milk while stirring, then mix in cheddar until melted.
  4. Combine the beef and drained macaroni in the skillet, pour the cheese sauce over and stir until well coated.
  5. Transfer to a greased baking dish, top with more cheese if desired, and bake at 350°F for about 20 minutes until bubbly.

Notes

Try using different types of cheese for variation or adding veggies like spinach or bell peppers for extra nutrition.
