Delicious air-fried macaroni and cheese balls, crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside, perfect for snacking or as an appetizer.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups elbow macaroni
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko recommended)
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- Boil the macaroni in salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a bowl, combine the cooked macaroni, cheddar cheese, cream cheese, and seasonings. Mix until well combined.
- Once the mixture is cool enough to handle, shape it into balls about the size of a golf ball.
- Roll each ball in breadcrumbs until fully coated.
- Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Spray the basket with cooking spray and place the balls in a single layer. Spray them lightly on top, then cook for about 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes
Chill the mixture for easier handling. Adjust seasonings as desired. Do not overcrowd the air fryer to ensure even cooking.
