Description

Soft, chewy cookies filled with chocolate chunks and drizzled with colorful icing to resemble bubbling cauldrons, perfect for Halloween gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chunks
  • Colored icing for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In another bowl, beat the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chunks.
  7. Using a cookie scoop, drop dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing them apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden.
  9. Let cool for a few minutes, then drizzle with colored icing.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding spices like cinnamon or nutmeg. Use room temperature ingredients for better dough consistency.
