Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast

  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Your favorite toppings (pepperoni, fresh veggies, herbs)


Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix warm water and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add flour, salt, and olive oil. Knead until smooth—about 5 to 10 minutes.
  3. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise for about an hour until doubled in size.
  4. Preheat your cast iron skillet in the oven to 475°F (245°C).
  5. Punch down the risen dough and shape it into a circle to fit your skillet.
  6. Remove the skillet from the oven, drizzle olive oil, lay the dough inside, spread sauce, sprinkle cheese, and add toppings.
  7. Bake in the oven for about 12-15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and crust is golden.
  8. Let cool for a few minutes, slice, and enjoy!
