- 3 medium-sized apples, peeled and sliced
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- A pinch of salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter and stir in 1/2 cup of brown sugar until bubbly. Add sliced apples and cook until tender, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat.
- Pour the cooked apples into a greased, round cake pan.
- In a bowl, beat remaining butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
- Add eggs one at a time, ensuring each is incorporated.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Gradually add to the butter mixture, alternating with milk, until just combined.
- Pour the batter over the apples in the pan.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then carefully flip onto a plate.
