Description

Bread pudding is a comforting dessert made with stale bread, milk, eggs, and sugar, creating a rich, creamy treat that everyone loves.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4-6 cups cubed stale bread
  • 2 cups milk (or almond/oat milk)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar (brown sugar recommended)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (or nutmeg)
  • 1 cup raisins (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cut or tear the bread into bite-sized cubes and place them in a large bowl.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until blended.
  4. Pour the wet mixture over the bread cubes, gently pressing down to soak all the pieces. Let it sit for about 15 minutes to absorb all that goodness.
  5. Grease a baking dish and pour in the soaked bread mixture, spreading it evenly.
  6. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until set and golden on top.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve with warm caramel sauce, vanilla ice cream, or whipped cream for an extra touch of delight.
