Description

Delicious homemade cinnamon rolls, warm and gooey, topped with rich icing – perfect for breakfast or a treat!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons Active Dry Yeast
  • 1/4 cup Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Milk (warm)
  • 1/2 cup Butter (melted or softened)
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 tablespoons Cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1 1/2 cups Powdered Sugar

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: In a large bowl, combine warm milk and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until bubbly. Stir in sugar, melted butter, eggs, and salt. Gradually incorporate the flour to form a soft dough. Knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  2. Let It Rise: Place your dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about an hour, or until it doubles in size.
  3. Make the Filling: In a separate bowl, mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon.
  4. Shape the Rolls: Roll the dough into a rectangle on a floured surface, spread softened butter over it, and sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Tightly roll the dough into a log and cut it into even pieces.
  5. Second Rise: Arrange the cut rolls in a greased baking dish. Cover and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  6. Bake: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for about 25-30 minutes, or until they’re golden brown.
  7. Make the Icing: While the rolls are baking, mix powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth.
  8. Finish with Icing: Once your rolls are out of the oven, let them cool slightly, then drizzle with icing while they’re still warm.

Notes

For best results, make sure your yeast is fresh and your milk is warm for activating the yeast.
