Description

A flavorful and spicy twist on classic fried rice, packed with vegetables and protein.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups cooked rice (day-old recommended)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2-3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 large carrot, diced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced (red or yellow)
  • 3-4 green onions, chopped
  • 1 cup protein of choice (chicken, shrimp, or tofu)
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • ½ cup Bang Bang Sauce
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare your ingredients by gathering and chopping everything.
  2. Heat one tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat and cook your protein until done. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, add another tablespoon of oil, then sauté garlic and onion until fragrant. Add carrots and bell peppers, and cook until softened.
  4. Add the cooked rice, breaking up any clumps and mixing well.
  5. Stir in soy sauce and Bang Bang Sauce, mixing everything evenly, then return the cooked protein to the pan.
  6. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot.

Notes

For best results, use day-old rice to avoid mushiness. Adjust the Bang Bang Sauce for desired spice levels.
