Description

A creamy, sweet, and warm dessert that combines the flavors of banana bread with a custard-like texture, perfect for cozy nights at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 overripe bananas
  • 4 cups bread (Challah, Brioche, or stale bread), cubed
  • 2 cups milk (whole, almond, or low-fat)
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar (brown or white)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 4 tablespoons butter (or coconut oil), melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mash the overripe bananas until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and melted butter until smooth.
  4. Stir in the mashed bananas and gently fold in the bread cubes until coated.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and spread evenly.
  6. Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown and custard is set.
  7. Cool for a few minutes, cut into squares, and serve warm.

Notes

Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for extra indulgence. A drizzle of caramel or a sprinkle of powdered sugar enhances presentation.
