Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup diced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • Optional: ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon; whisk well.
  3. In another bowl, cream together softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition.
  5. Incorporate vanilla extract into the butter-sugar mixture.
  6. Gradually mix in dry ingredients until just combined; avoid overmixing.
  7. Fold in diced apples and optional nuts.
  8. Pour batter into a greased loaf pan and smooth the top.
  9. Bake for 60-70 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  10. Let cool in the pan briefly, then cool completely on a wire rack.
