Description

Delicious apple pie bars with a buttery crust, gooey spiced apple filling, and a crumbly streusel topping.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, cold
  • 4-5 medium apples, sliced (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour and granulated sugar. Cut in cold butter until it resembles coarse crumbs. Press it into a greased baking dish.
  3. In another bowl, toss sliced apples with cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
  4. Spread the apple mixture evenly over the crust.
  5. Mix remaining flour and sugar with butter until crumbly and sprinkle over the apples.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  7. Allow to cool before slicing.

Notes

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for added indulgence. Ensure to cool completely for easier slicing.
