- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter, cold
- 4-5 medium apples, sliced (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine flour and granulated sugar. Cut in cold butter until it resembles coarse crumbs. Press it into a greased baking dish.
- In another bowl, toss sliced apples with cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
- Spread the apple mixture evenly over the crust.
- Mix remaining flour and sugar with butter until crumbly and sprinkle over the apples.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Allow to cool before slicing.
Notes
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for added indulgence. Ensure to cool completely for easier slicing.
