Description

A comforting Apple Custard Pie that combines sweet, juicy apples with a creamy custard filling in a buttery crust.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • 4 cups apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp, sliced)
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk (or almond/oat milk for dairy-free)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar (or brown sugar)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (or almond extract)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the pie crust by fitting it into a pie dish and pricking the bottom with a fork.
  3. Peel and slice the apples into thin slices and toss in lemon juice.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon until smooth.
  5. Layer the apple slices evenly in the pie crust.
  6. Pour the custard mixture over the apples, ensuring it seeps in between.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes, until the custard is set and a knife comes out clean.
  8. Cool for 15 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature, optionally topped with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Allow pie to cool completely for cleaner slices.
