- 4 cups apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp, sliced)
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk (or almond/oat milk for dairy-free)
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar (or brown sugar)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (or almond extract)
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare the pie crust by fitting it into a pie dish and pricking the bottom with a fork.
- Peel and slice the apples into thin slices and toss in lemon juice.
- In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon until smooth.
- Layer the apple slices evenly in the pie crust.
- Pour the custard mixture over the apples, ensuring it seeps in between.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes, until the custard is set and a knife comes out clean.
- Cool for 15 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Serve warm or at room temperature, optionally topped with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Allow pie to cool completely for cleaner slices.
