Description

A gooey and chewy dessert that captures the delightful flavor of almond croissants in a blondie.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line an 8×8 inch pan with parchment paper.
  3. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over low heat, then let it cool slightly.
  4. In a large bowl, combine melted butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar; whisk until smooth.
  5. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  6. Gradually add flour and salt, stirring until just combined.
  7. Fold in sliced almonds and almond extract.
  8. Pour batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes until edges are golden and a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  10. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

For a vegan option, substitute eggs with chia seeds mixed with water. Consider adding chocolate chips for an indulgent twist.
